Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty is one of the most sought-after and intricate plastic surgeries, aimed at
changing the shape and/or size of the nose to achieve facial aesthetic harmony and, in
some cases, improve nasal breathing. This procedure allows for the correction of
congenital or acquired defects: removing a hump, adjusting the width of the bridge or tip of
the nose, changing the shape of the nostrils, and correcting asymmetry. The main goal of
rhinoplasty is to create a nose that is not only beautiful but also perfectly fits the overall
architecture of your face, emphasizing your individuality and boosting self-confidence.
Often, to achieve the best functional and aesthetic results, rhinoplasty is combined with
septoplasty (correction of the nasal septum).

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about Rhinoplasty
1. Is rhinoplasty painful, and what will the discomfort be like afterwards?
The surgery itself is performed under general anesthesia, so it is completely painless. In
the first few days after rhinoplasty, moderate pain, a feeling of pressure and fullness in the
nasal area, and congestion are possible. These symptoms are well controlled by pain
medications prescribed by your doctor. Most patients report that the main discomfort
comes not so much from pain as from the need to breathe through the mouth due to nasal
packs and swelling.
2. Will there be scars after rhinoplasty?
With closed rhinoplasty, all incisions are made inside the nose, so there are no visible
scars. With open rhinoplasty, a small incision is made on the columella (the skin bridge
between the nostrils). Thanks to the skill of our surgeons and the use of special suturing
techniques, this scar becomes virtually unnoticeable after complete healing and is difficult
to distinguish even up close.
3. How long does full recovery take, and when will I see the final result?
The initial recovery period (when major swelling and bruising subside, and the cast is
removed) takes about 2-3 weeks. After this time, you will be able to assess the preliminary
changes and return to social life. However, the complete formation of the new nose shape
and the final resolution of all, even minimal, internal swelling takes from 6 to 12 months,
and in some cases (with thick skin, revision surgery) up to 1.5 years. It's important to be
patient; the result is worth it!
4. When will the final result of the surgery be visible? (Clarified Answer)
You will notice the first significant improvements immediately after the cast is removed
(after 7-14 days) – the nose will be straighter, smaller, and the hump will be gone.
However, due to residual swelling, especially at the tip and bridge, the shape of the nose
will continue to change. Approximately 1-3 months post-op, about 70-80% of the swelling
will have subsided, and you will have a good idea of the result. The final, settled shape of
the nose, with full definition of all details, is formed by 6-12 (sometimes up to 18) months
after the surgery.
5. Can rhinoplasty be combined with nasal septum correction (septoplasty)?
Yes, this is a very common practice. Such a combined operation is called rhinoseptoplasty.
It allows for simultaneous achievement of two goals: improving the aesthetics of the nose
and restoring normal nasal breathing if it is impaired due to a deviated septum. Performing
two corrections in one operation is convenient for the patient, as it requires one anesthesia
and one recovery period.
6. Which rhinoplasty method is better: open or closed?
There is no "better" method overall – there is a method that is optimally suited to solve a
specific problem for a particular patient. Closed rhinoplasty is less traumatic and leaves no
external scars but has some limitations in access and visualization. Open rhinoplasty
provides the surgeon with better visibility and control, which is important for complex
corrections, but leaves a small, usually inconspicuous scar. Our experienced surgeons
master both methods and choose the one that will achieve the best result in your specific
case. Ultrasonic (Piezo) technology can be used with both approaches.
7. What is Piezo rhinoplasty, and what are its advantages?
Piezo rhinoplasty is a modern ultrasonic technology that allows surgeons to work on nasal
bones with exceptional precision and gentleness. Ultrasound affects only hard bone tissue,
without damaging blood vessels, nerves, or cartilage. Advantages of Piezo:
* Less trauma: Significantly less swelling and bruising.
* High precision: Allows for modeling bones with surgical accuracy.
* Faster recovery: The rehabilitation period is shorter.
* Predictable results: Reduces the risk of irregularities and undesirable bone calluses.
We actively use the Piezo device to achieve the best results.
8. How long will the results of rhinoplasty last?
The results of rhinoplasty last a lifetime, as the altered shape of the bone and cartilage
framework of the nose remains stable. However, it is important to understand that the
nose, like the entire face, is subject to natural age-related changes over time. Serious
nasal injuries can also affect the result
